Whittum Street Traffic Proposal

Special Meeting for Whittum Ave & Hartford Terrace Residents
Tuesday, February 24, 2009
Frederick Harris School @ 6:30 pm

Frederick Harris School Principal, Deborah Lantaigne and Matthew Ferri from the PTO, will discuss a proposal to change traffic flow along Whittum Street to provide for safe arrival and dismissal of students. 

Proposal: 

  • Whittum Street would become a one-way street proceeding south to north, from Allen Street through to Plumtree Road on a permanent basis.
  • Whittum Street would become a one-way only for these periods of time (arrival and dismissal of students), with proper signage and enforcement. 

There will also be a question answer period.

  • The East Forest Park Civic Association conducted a hearing on this issue at our February 11, 2009 meeting (minutes [pdf]).
  • This issue first came up at our January 9, 2008 meeting (Minutes [pdf]). 
The civic association has notified residents on Whittum Ave and Hartford Terrace of these meetings.
